Frequently Asked Questions
Can you help me resolve a complaint I have with a business?
While we do not mediate disputes between consumers and businesses, we thoroughly investigate all complaints. We will take action, including removing a listing, if a business violates our terms or fails to resolve significant issues.
Is Pure Local only for Australian businesses?
Yes. Pure Local is a platform built exclusively by Australians, for Australians. We are committed to supporting the local market, and all listed businesses must be operating within Australia.
How do I add my business to Pure Local?
Click here to submit your Australian business to the Pure Local Directory. The process is simple and designed to get your business profile live quickly. Please note that spam, inactive, unresponsive, or accounts that do not comply with our terms will be promptly removed. If an account is problematic, we will attempt to contact you via email, phone, and/or social media before finalising deletion.
How can I update my business listing details?
To update your information, simply log in to your account using the "Member Login" link. From your dashboard, you can edit your contact details, opening hours, services, and more. If you have any trouble, our support team is available to help at support@purelocal.com.au.
Do we charge recurring monthly or annual fees to list on PureLocal?
No. There are no recurring subscription charges to list your business on Pure Local.
How are customer reviews handled on PureLocal?
All reviews are manually screened by our staff to ensure fairness and compliance with the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. Reviews that are defamatory, fraudulent, or inappropriate are removed.
What is your policy on negative or fake reviews?
We are committed to maintaining a fair and authentic review platform. All reviews are manually screened, and we remove any that are found to be fraudulent, defamatory, or in breach of consumer law. If you believe a review on your listing is suspicious, please contact our support team to request a formal investigation.
Under what circumstances are listings removed?
Listings may be removed for spam, inaccurate or misleading information, or if the business has permanently closed. Reopened businesses can request reinstatement, which is usually completed within 24 hours. Our initial screening process ensures that listings and businesses are reviewed before publication, so listings are generally not removed for minor rule breaches. Pure Local listings are permanent unless the business owner requests removal for any reason.
Who is responsible for the information on a business listing?
The business owner or their authorized representative is solely responsible for ensuring all information on their listing is accurate, lawful, and up-to-date. You can update your details at any time via the Member Login.
What are the rules for using content from your website?
All content on PureLocal.com.au is copyright-protected. You cannot copy or use our material without prior written permission.
What should I do if I find my copyrighted work on your site?
If you believe your copyrighted material has been used without permission, please submit a formal DMCA infringement notice in writing to dmca@purelocal.com.au or to our postal address. Please include all necessary details for us to verify your claim.
Is my personal information shared with third parties?
We do not share your personal information for marketing purposes without your explicit consent. When submitting a listing, you will have the clear option to opt-in to receive communications from our trusted partners. If you do not opt-in, your email will not be shared.
