How the directory is maintained
Pure Local is an independent Australian business directory established in 2014. It helps users discover businesses through searchable profiles containing descriptions, contact details, locations, service areas, websites, images and customer reviews where available.
New listings are checked before publication for Australian relevance, completeness, legitimacy and compliance with editorial standards.
Outdated, inactive, misleading or non-compliant profiles may be corrected, investigated, suspended or removed.
Customer reviews are screened for compliance. Screening reduces abuse but does not independently verify every statement made by a reviewer.

Pure Local is an Australian business directory established in 2014. It publishes searchable business profiles and customer reviews, with new listings manually reviewed before publication.
Businesses may apply when they operate in Australia or genuinely provide goods or services to Australian customers. Applications must be accurate, lawful, actively trading and submitted by an owner, authorised employee or approved representative.
Submit the business through the Pure Local listing form. Prepare an original description of at least 400 words, at least three suitable images, accurate contact information and evidence that the submitter is authorised to act for the business.
Pure Local may compare submitted details with the business website, social profiles, public records, mapping information and other credible sources. The editorial team may also contact the business by email or phone.
Business owners and authorised representatives can update a listing by signing in through Member Login. Contact details, opening hours, services, service areas, images and other profile information can be edited from the account dashboard.
Pure Local does not charge recurring monthly or annual subscription fees for standard business listings. A one-time activation fee may apply during submission, and any applicable amount is shown before payment is completed.
Customer reviews are screened before publication for compliance with the review policy. Reviews may be withheld, investigated or removed when Pure Local reasonably believes they are fraudulent, unlawful, defamatory, misleading, unrelated to a genuine experience or otherwise non-compliant.
Pure Local is not a party to transactions between consumers and listed businesses and does not act as a dispute-resolution service. It may investigate credible complaints and take directory action where a listing breaches published policies.
A listing may be removed for spam, inaccurate or misleading information, failed verification, inactivity, permanent closure, serious policy breaches or failure to cooperate with a reasonable verification or complaint investigation.
Support is available seven days a week from 9am to 11pm AEST. Most general enquiries receive a response within 0 to 3 hours during support hours. Formal legal, copyright and complex policy matters may take up to 24 business hours.
More detailed requirements: the Pure Local Business Listing Guidelines are the primary source for submission and approval standards.
